The Current Senate Runoffs in The State of Georgia are looking very tight, as Early Voting for the runoff began on Monday. What is a senator runoff? Its an election held when No Candidate in The First Senator Election gains The Majority (50%) of The Votes, requiring a mandatory second election, which is what we know as The Senator Runoffs. In This election, The Two Incumbent Republican Senators, Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue will face off against The Two Democrat Candidates, Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. Every US state has 2 Senate Seats held by 2 Senators. In this case their is The Special Seat, held by Kelly Loeffler, and The Regular Seat, held by David Perdue. These two will fight for re-election in their seats. Lets breakdown both Seats Elections and the polls. (fiverhirtyeight.com is the website we will use) Starting off with The Special Seat, We have Raphael Warnock (D) facing off Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R). In this seat, polling began on Nov 9, With Sen. Loeffler with a one point lead. Warnock caught up with Loeffler and peaked his lead over her at 3 points, but it has fallen back to 1.6 points. In The Regular Seat, The Race is a lot more tight, With Sen. David Perdue (R) facing off Jon Ossoff (D). When polling started, Sen. Perdue had a 4 point lead over Ossoff. But, Just like in The Special Seat, Ossoff caught up with Sen. Perdue and the gap in polling was around 0.3, But as of now Ossoff increased his lead to 1 point. So, The Polls show a Democrat lead. But we can’t always trust polls, especially in Tight Races like this one. We have to remember, Georgia is a very hardcore Republican state and Just because President-Elect Joe Biden was able to flip it blue, for the first time since Bill Clintons 1992 Victory, and with a very small margin of 18,000 votes doesn’t mean That Georgia will now vote exclusively blue in every race. And, Thats just general nationwide elections, In The Senate, The Democrats haven’t won a seat since 1996. Both Parties, especially the Democrats, have campaigned very aggressively all around Georgia. Now, Early Voting has began and Georgia Citizens who are eligible to vote can vote for Their Preferred Candidates in Both Seats. The Results will be out on January 5th 2021. So now, That I’ve gave you a full and simple explanation of The Race, You can know what to expect on January 5th.
